The team at Learning Point have reflected on their experiences of CPD both as teachers and as Senior Leaders during their careers. We have arrived at the conclusion that CPD can be ‘hit and miss’.
Some CPD is of course valuable. Other CPD at times can be useful, but lacks the impact required for the individual and the organisation. Budgets are tight and because of this, the headteachers that we work with have expressed a desire for targeted support for their teachers and leaders. The skills acquired are then brought back to school or college and shared across the board.
Our events are facilitated by genuine world class experts in their field. As a result of this we run a relatively small number of events each academic year to ensure the highest quality and so as not to stretch the CPD budgets.
As you will see from our website, we are all about supporting educationalists and children to achieve their full potential. We design our CPD with teachers – for teachers. We only hold four events each year and these are directly targeted at specific areas which have been requested by Senior Leaders and Teachers across the North West.
In some circumstances, we will work with partner schools to provide CPD support ‘in house’ or work with schools on staff development days. Where your needs cannot be provided for within our team, we will endeavour to recommend the best facilitators in our extensive network.
